Why We Must Continue Andrew Breitbart’s Fight

Those that are familiar with Andrew Breitbart’s work know that he was a man that had no political fear, always dominated a situation and gained undivided attention.  The reason that the Left had such distain for Breitbart is because he was a person that could beat them at their own game.He was an antagonist that no liberal could touch with a ten foot pole, no matter how much they wanted to and the liberal left had never met an antagonist of Breitbart’s caliber.

What pissed off the Left (And he will continue to do after his death with future release of the Obama Harvard Tapes) about Mr. Breitbart was the he refused to “rationalize” with liberals.

I’m sure we have all been there.  You’re being friendly, enjoying your day and someone knows your political leanings and they don’t agree with you.  You don’t start talking politics, your just there with this person and somehow they get the feeling that they just MUST understand how you think the way you do.  Or even better try to “educate” you because you are so stupid and ignorant.

But really what they are doing is trying to spark a debate with you to try and make you look foolish in their eyes.  Really what ends up happening is an hour later (depending on your level of patience) they are on a completely different topic and very upset because of your attempts to keep the liberal on track.  Never mind the fact that THEY started the political conversation or questions, because they know soooo much!

In most cases they will get huffy, start calling names, or tell you to “Shut the f**ck up” because they are just annoyed with you and you carry on with your happy right minded life as they walk away calling you names or telling others how ignorant you are.  Compassion and tolerance… I know, funny.

Breitbart knew this and he took advantage of it and kicked liberals in the cajones every chance he got.  He lived, breathed, ate and slept a certain Libertarian/ Conservative philosophy that he hoped would catch fire.

The philosophy that I walked away with was “We are done talking.  I have sat here for an hour listening to you and you can’t stay on topic.  We are done, we will make our own way and if you get upset about it I’m not sorry.  This is America, walk away, talk to someone else but I am not going to listen to your foolishness any longer.  If you want to live off of the sweeping and encroaching hand of government so be it but you won’t be getting that here.”

Breitbart did everything with passion and vigor.  He always stood by what he said and brought down all that offended with evidence.

Think about what this ONE man did:

Through evidence he collected he brought down Anthony Weiner and “exposed” him for what he truly was.

Exposing Obama for marching with the Black Panther Party in 2007.

He was not afraid to support and partner the likes of James O’Keefe and as a result brought attention to the waste of government spending, ACORN, Medicaid fraud, the ethical corruption of the government entities, bureaucracy, elected public servants and presidential administration of our beloved America.

Brought attention to unreported rapes and drug abuse in Zuccotti Park by going there and interviewing the “Occupiers” themselves.

Called out Jody Evans the co-founder of Code Pink and quoted her as saying that she was “Part of the 1% that supports the 99%” as he took a picture of her on their mutual flight showing her sitting in first class as he sat in coach.

Then on January 22, 2012 he spoke at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) which in my eyes would be one of his most defining moments when he said:

“I don’t care who our candidate is and I haven’t since the beginning of this. I haven’t! Ask not what the candidate can do for you; ask what you can do for the candidate! …

When I walk through CPAC or as I travel the United States to meet people in the TEA Party who care – black, white, gay, and straight – anyone that’s willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive left, I will be in that bunker.

And if you’re not in that bunker because you’re not satisfied with [a certain] candidate, more than shame on you! You’re on the other side!”

Andrew Breitbart’s death is hard to swallow.  He was a hard worker, passionate about getting America back on track, a leader, a father and husband.  But most of all I know that he supported me and what I try to do.

I support the TEA Party and I support citizen journalism just as he did, same political feelings, overall scope and word view of what we can do as individuals on our own without the government taking away our Liberty.  He supported what I attempt to do every day.  He wanted us all to be loud, direct and fearless, to challenge the Left the way they challenge us.

As he wisely said at CPAC “This isn’t your grandmother’s democratic party.”  He’s right, it’s not.

So what can we do fellow Libertarians and Conservatives?!  I say we all pick up where he left off.  We read, learn and bring forward Mr. Andrew Breitbart as an eternal symbol of the American Conservative Libertarian, a modern day Libertarian Founding Father.  Emulate and follow his lessons the lessons he left for us.  You can be Breitbart and so can I.

Rest in peace, Mr. Breitbart, you will be deeply, sorely and unequivocally missed, thank you for what you have done Sir.
